The Mumbles, Uplands and the Marina
Swansea has the Mumbles on the western edge of the bay, and areas such as Uplands, Sketty, Brynmill and the Marina. In the 19th century it was a centre of copper smelting and earned the nickname Copperopolis. Neath, Port Talbot and Llanelli are nearby.
The mix of older terraces, flats and seaside homes gives plenty of different kitchens to work in.
Two universities and Gower visitors
Swansea University and the University of Wales Trinity Saint David are in the city, so student renting is part of the picture. Gower's beaches are promoted to visitors, which is a reminder of how varied Swansea's surroundings are. Writer Dylan Thomas is closely tied to the city.

Swansea station has Great Western Railway trains to London Paddington via Cardiff Central. From Paddington you continue across London to the Bromley area, where Bromley South has direct trains from London Victoria.
